FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Port Charlotte, FL – Creek Engineering, Inc. is proud to sponsor the Cape Coral Friends of Wildlife’s 24th Annual Burrowing Owl Festival, taking place Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Rotary Park in Cape Coral.

Since 2002, Creek Engineering has provided geotechnical, civil, environmental, and septic engineering services across Southwest Florida. Part of operating in this region means understanding the unique environmental considerations that come with development here—including the protection of species like the burrowing owl, gopher tortoise, scrub jay, and other protected wildlife that call our area home.

“We work with developers and contractors every day who are navigating environmental surveys and permitting requirements,” said Creek Engineering. “Supporting the Burrowing Owl Festival is a natural extension of our commitment to sustainable development in Southwest Florida. Education is key—both for our clients and for the broader community—and events like this help people understand why these protections matter.”

The Burrowing Owl Festival brings together over 30 local environmental and conservation organizations for a day of wildlife education, hands-on experiences, and family-friendly activities. Highlights include live animal encounters with Adam’s Animal Adventures, local wildlife bus tours to see burrowing owls in their natural habitat, guided birding tours, butterfly house tours, guest speakers, and a conservation expo.

Creek Engineering’s environmental services include residential environmental surveys, gopher tortoise management, wetland delineation, and Phase I Environmental Site Assessments—all designed to help clients meet Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) guidelines while moving their projects forward efficiently.

“The simple truth is that environmental compliance doesn’t have to be a roadblock,” the company noted. “When developers understand what’s required and work with experienced professionals who know the local landscape, these surveys and protections become part of a well-planned project—not a surprise that derails it.”

The Cape Coral Friends of Wildlife (CCFW) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the protection, preservation, and education of wildlife in Southwest Florida. The Burrowing Owl Festival is their signature annual event, celebrating Cape Coral’s iconic bird while raising awareness about environmental stewardship across the region.
